He sets the scene, builds trust and creates the right atmosphere, seeking out genuine emotion without too many filters, poses, or retouching. His presence is discreet and unobtrusive, yet he knows how to be direct when coordinating a “crew” of children, relatives, and parents overcome with emotion, all to ensure precision and perfection in the shots. Marco shines brightest when stepping outside the “comfort zone” of the standard posed photo. I believe his secret weapons are the play of light, reflections, and the determined, confident expressions of the brides he “courts” with his lens, as well as the unusual locations. I absolutely loved the black-and-white shots he created by playing with my veil.
